Authorities Identify Woman Killed in DUI Crash on Davis Road in Salinas
Salinas, California (December 22, 2019) – The woman who died Friday night in a suspected DUI crash in Salinas has been identified as as Rosie Figueroa, 38.
The fatal accident occurred Friday, December 20 on Davis Road.
The California Highway Patrol said Jacques Clarke, 18, was driving a 2015 Mazda 6 northbound at a high rate of speed when he crashed into the rear of a 2012 Toyota Camry driven by Figueroa.
As a result of the collision, the Camry spun out of control and hit a large tree. The Camry then overturned.
Figueroa was pronounced dead at the scene and her female passenger was taken to Natividad Hospital with major injuries.
Authorities said Clarke was booked into the Monterey County Jail for DUI causing great bodily and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. His bail was set at $200,000.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
