Santa Barbara, California (December 23, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim killed in Santa Barbara pedestrian accident on last week Friday evening as 39-year-old Mark Richard McDonald.

The pedestrian crash, which happened at about 6:10 p.m. December 20, occurred along the southbound lanes of Highway 101 just north of the La Cumbre off-ramp.

A Dark Gray Toyota Camry struck McDonald while he was trying to cross the roadway from the center divider to the shoulder

McDonald died in the accident.

The wreck resulted in the closure of the number two and three lanes of the road for an unknown time.

More details will be released immediately after the CHP completes the investigation.
