Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Ridgecrest DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on West Wilson Avenue; Brandy Clair Arrested

Ridgecrest, California (December 31, 2019) – A bicyclist was seriously injured Saturday morning in a suspected DUI hit-and-run accident in Ridgecrest, authorities said.

The accident happened on West Wilson Avenue Saturday, December 28 on West Wilson Avenue.

According to the authorities, a red Chrysler minivan was traveling westbound on West Wilson Avenue when it veered towards the edged of Wilson Avenue and struck the bicyclist.

Medical personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to the bicyclist who sustained minor injuries in the crash. The name and condition of the patient were not immediately disclosed.

Authorities said the driver of the minivan, Brandy Nyssa Clair, 33, did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the scene.

Clair pulled into a driveway on West Haloid Avenue and was arrested by police. She was booked into the Ridgecrest Police Department on charges of DUI with injury and hit-and-run causing injury. Authorities are still investigating the incident.

The accident remains under investigation.
