Bailey Reyna Identified as Victim Killed in Alleged DUI Crash at West Artesia Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in Gardena
Gardena, California (December 25, 2019) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office has identified the man who was killed Sunday morning in an alleged DUI crash in Gardena as Bailey Reyna. His city of residence was not disclosed.
The accident took place at around 6:00 a.m. Sunday, December 22 in the area of West Artesia Boulevard and Normandie Avenue.
According to the authorities, a gray Honda Civic was heading eastbound when it was hit from the back by a black Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution operated by Jonathan Salazar, 24, of Vista. The force of the impact sent the Honda Civic across the intersection and slammed into a traffic signal in the center median.
Reyna, who was a passenger in the Honda, was declared dead at the scene. The other person was transported to a hospital with major injuries.
Salazar was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was held on $100,000 bail. He was scheduled to go to court Tuesday.
