Maria de Garcia, 2 Others Killed in Oakdale Crash on Oakdale-Waterford Highway
Oakdale, California (August 30, 2019) – Three people were killed and two others were injured in a traffic collision Wednesday night in Oakdale, according to a local news source.
As per the local news report, the tragic crash happened on Oakdale-Waterford Highway between Milnes and Ellenwood roads at around 9:55 p.m. Wednesday, August 28.
Authorities said a 2010 Chevy Camaro was heading southbound on the highway at a high rate of speed when it drifted into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta, which was traveling northbound.
The force of the impact caused the Jetta to flip over and came to a stop on the east shoulder of the highway on its right side. The Camaro stopped in the northbound lane, facing east.
Within five minutes, witnesses said a Hyundai sedan traveling northbound on the highway, crashed into the Camaro. The Camaro spun out of control and the Hyundai came to rest on the road’s shoulder as a result of the crash.
The driver of the Camaro, the driver of the Jetta and his passenger, Maria Hernandez de Garcia, 60, of Parlier, all died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Hyundai and his passenger were transported to a hospital. One of the patients was in critical, and the other had life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
